Wedding Nerves

Im getting married tomorrow! I cant believe that, the last year went by way to fast! Im scared and nervous and excited. Everyone keeps telling me not to be nervous or scared and i cant help it. Its my anxiety anytime i do anything even semi permenent it happens. Plus i want people to have fun tomorrow so i want things to go well and people keep making it seem like im forgetting things so i am freaking out trying to figure out what im forgetting. Ugh.
But i am excited i think we did some pretty awesome things. Most of our stuff is homemade like the invites and the programs so i think it will be cool cause we are doing stuff a little bit different. 🙂

Ugh Money

I hate that what I can do for my wedding is defined by how much money we can save. Which lets be honest J and I suck at saving money, which means it is our own fault that we are in this position but at the same time it sucks because we have so many good ideas that we can’t do because of money. We had originally thought about doing like a crowd source thing but it’d be embarrassing plus we didn’t know where we would post it so we didn’t look like jerks. I’m sure some of you reading this are like you should have saved better and we tried and for awhile we did but with all the bills we pay we don’t have a whole ton of money left over and we need to buy groceries so we saved what we could and got a good chuck of stuff paid for but now it’s crunch time and it’s like oh crap we are short well basically barely cutting it. I suppose you could blame our honeymoon on that too, but that’s what we wanted was a nice honeymoon because otherwise we won’t ever do one. And that we got paid for as we saved for it. ?It’s just the fact that all our big expenses are due at once so we can’t afford the little things, it sucks but I guess what can you do? we will do our best at the most important thing is that we are getting married.

Time of year, Age, or something in the air?

I’m not sure what it is but man there has been a lot of weddings lately and there are only more to come, including my own! What sucks about that is, it means I need to plan my wedding around others because I don’t want to “copy” any one or have the same dress or first dance song or anything. It kinda sucks. Plus then when I hear what other people are thinking of doing I don’t know if I should change what I was thinking of to not be similar to their wedding even if it’s after mine. I’m sure your reading this and thinking to yourself who cares it’s your wedding and that’s just it I care. I want my wedding to be remebered and not be similar to others. Which is one reason there are some details I’m not letting people know, like our first dance song.
Everything else however I will keep you updated on. Like recently we booked our honeymoon! I am so excited we are going to Antigua so it will be nice and tropical and awesome! We plan on doing scuba diving and boating and all sorts of fun outdoor honeymoony stuff! But before that we have to get through the wedding. Which means we still need to locate a florist, bakery, and I need to find a place for hair and makeup. Otherwise we have everything lined up just need to meet with our photographer and our minister. Things are going well. Although I should probably finish my save the dates and get to work ordering the paper for my invitation… I decided to hand make them. We will see how that goes. I’ll keep you updated. 🙂

Proposal!

That’s right! I got engaged. To an awesome, amazing, wonderful man whom I love very very much! It was all very romantic.
There is even a video! Proposal Video

and pictures of the proposal and ring 🙂

I am such a lucky woman! It was so romantic. It was at the dance for his aunt’s laid back 4th wedding reception, and he played the song God Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts and proposed! I was so shocked. The ring is beautiful and I couldn’t be more happy!

Weddings!

So In the last month I have been in 1 wedding and went to another one.

Justin’s older brother got married on April 27th, I was one of the bridesmaids. So for this wedding I have more to talk about. The Thursday before the wedding was her bachelorette party. We went to dinner and a burlesque show at the Wicked Moose Bar in Rochester. It was so much fun and the acts were very good, and there was humor too. After that we went to another bar and danced for awhile all in all it was a lot of fun! Friday was our nail day so all the girls went and did that and then grabbed lunch and then off to the rehearsal which was fun, a lot of joking around between bridal party members. After the rehearsal it was off to the groom’s dinner. Which was super yummy! After the rehearsal dinner Josh (the groom) went home with Justin to spend the night away from his bride and I went To Emily’s (The bride) to have a girls nights. It was a lot of fun. In the morning when Emily went to get her hair done me and the maid of honor and the flower girl went to go get ours done. After that we headed to the venue to get ready all together, and take some girl only pictures. Emily looked beautiful! And it was a wonderful ceremony, totally nerdy but that is what they wanted. They had games and the reception and giant dice to roll in order to kiss, and the take home favors were chocolate dice. It was wonderful and amazing. Sadly I don’t have many pictures but these are some taken by Justin’s amazing cousin Sami ❤

The second wedding was Justin’s youngest brother’s wedding. It was also fantastic.  Friday was the grooms dinner, once again it was very yummy and a lot of fun. A church ceremony which was beautiful and Katelyn (the bride) was too! After word we went to the venue which was this amazing building on a golf course. After pictures it was dinner and dancing and they had a great floor and lots of room to dance. They also had a photo booth which was tons of fun. All in all it was amazing and there was so much love at both weddings.

Valentine’s Day

Ah to be drinking a glass of wine while writing a blog about Valentine’s Day, how nice. 🙂

My flowers

My flowers

I have always been somewhat a hopeless romantic, so I can safely say I have always loved Valentine’s Day even when I single. I was not single this year though (I wasn’t last year either but that not for this blog). To start off I will say Justin and I do not go out for dinner on Valentine’s Day we wait until the weekend after. So I had some planning to do since he had to drive all the way to see me for it. I didn’t have much money for gifts this year so I did some crafts and made a yummy dinner as well as cookies for dessert.

I had class in the morning so I didn’t have a lot of time to get things ready, but I also didn’t think Justin was getting here until 7 pm, so I thought I’d have time. Justin was really sweet though and showed up early surprising me. It was awesome! He had brought my a vase full of flowers (all purple my, favorite! ) and a bouquet of chocolate. He also gave me two very gorgeous rings and two longer necklace chains. I felt so spoiled. We had time to just chill out we even took a nap lol. Then I got to it and made dinner, recipe here. Actually I made the cookies first so that we could actually have some after dinner. The cookies I found were red velvet cookies with cream cheese filling but I never got around to making the frosting filling so it was just the red velvet cookies, which were delicious. Then I made dinner and got to use my heart shaped ring. The dinner I made was chocolate chip banana pancakes, from scratch. They were adorable and Justin loved them! Then we curled up and watched a romantic movie before heading to bed. We watched the movie, The Switch, which was super funny a little chick flicky but we both enjoyed it. The nice thing about him coming up for Valentine’s Day was that then I got a 4 day week with him. It was super nice.

Since it’s been a few weeks I can also talk about the dinner we went out to for Valentine’s Day. Two weekends ago is when we ended up going out, we didn’t do anything major just went out to dinner. We went to a restaurant here in town at about 8 pm since that’s when he got here. We wanted someplace nice and/or new so I selected a restaurant that I had seen but no one I knew had been too but the Google reviews were good. It’s called the Copper Kettle and it was a really nice place and very good for a nice date. We ordered some moscato wine since that’s our favorite. We got some artichoke dip that came with bread for an appetizer it was really good. Justin got a nice steak and since we weren’t somewhere super fancy I got a steak sandwich (It’s still steak :P). It was super nice, we were able to talk and really just enjoy each other’s company. On our way home we picked up some more wine and had a glass at home while we bummed around at my apartment and watched stuff with my roommate.

I love Justin so much. It was all very lovely.

1 YEAR!

I just wanted to share this and say how happy I am for my sister and her Husband. I think they are amazing together and I am so happy for them and maybe a tad bit jealous. Happy 1 year to you two your both amazing and I love you both!

My View from Over Here

It has been one year since our wedding! I just can’t believe how fast this year has gone. 2 days ago was 6 years since we started dating. Can’t believe how fast 6 years can go by. Every day, month, year has been great. I feel so blessed.

I am just so lucky to say that I love my husband as much if not more than I did on our wedding day. Here are some of my favorite pics of the amazing day…

Today, after work we will be celebrating this first anniversary. We’re going to the Melting Pot. We have heard some good things from friends, so I am looking forward to it. It should be a very good night with my love, reminiscing on our special day one year ago.

Sunday morning I woke up to roses and our flower gerbera daisies on the table with a very lovely…
